Coldplay is an English alternative rock band formed in 1996. They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single Yellow in 2000. The group released five studio albums, five extended plays, twenty-five singles, two live albums, twenty-seven music videos, and one compilation album. Coldplay has won seven Grammy Awards from twenty nominations, six Brit Awards—winning Best British Group three times, four MTV Video Music Awards. The band has sold over 50 million records, making them one of the best-selling music artists worldwide.
