Alt-J is an English indie rock quartet, formed in 2007. Their debut album An Awesome Wave was released in May 2012. It peaked at number thirteen on the UK Albums Chart, and also charted in Belgium, France, Netherlands and Switzerland. The album also won the 2012 British Barclaycard Mercury Prize.
