AC/DC are an Australian rock band, formed in 1973. AC/DC had sold more than 200 million albums worldwide, including 71 million albums in the United States alone. To date they are one of the highest grossing bands of all time, selling more albums than Madonna, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson. In 2004, AC/DC were ranked number 72 in the Rolling Stone list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. In 2008, they embarked on the Black Ice World Tour in support of the group's 15th studio album, Black Ice. The jaunt began in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, United States in late October 2008. By spring 2010, the tour had reached North America, Europe, South America, Oceania and Asia. The tour ended up being the most successful by AC/DC, grossing roughly $441.1 million, making it the third highest-grossing concert tour of all-time.
